SERVICES WE PROVIDE

Life Safety Education and Prevention, and Inspections - We feel the best way to reduce the amount of damage fire causes to our community is to prevent fire from happening in the first place.  This is the basis of our Life Safety Education and prevention program.  We try to get out in the town to teach children, residents and business owners how they can prevent a fire and what they should do in the event of one.  We also perform fire inspections of businesses to assure that all fire code is being followed.  Our ultimate goal is to reduce the incidences of fires, injuries, and enhance the safety of residences, businesses and citizens of the Town of Wilkesboro.

Fire Suppression -
As a fire department, we are responsible for responding to many different types of fires.  These fires include residential, commercial, vehicle and brush fires. When responding to such fires, our first priority is to protect life and second is to protect property. We require all our Firefighters to participate in fire training on a regular basis to ensure we provide the best protection possible.

Medical Emergencies -
We also respond to various life threatening illnesses and injuries including cardiac arrest, stroke, gunshots, difficulty breathing, seizures, motor vehicle accidents, and many more.  Our team of First Responders is made up of highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians and Medical Responders.  These medical personnel have been through the required training of over 169 hours and must attend 24 hours of in-service a year in order to retain their certification.
