Finance Director
Background: Wilkesboro has a population of 3,200 with a total annual operating budget of $10M.
Responsibilities: Will serve as a key member of management team and will be required to attend night meetings. Must exercise independent judgment and initiative in planning and directing fiscal control system. Plans and directs operation of the finance department including disbursement and accounting of city funds; payroll, purchasing, fixed assets, cash management, investments, AR, AP, customer service, billing and maintaining computerized accounting system. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Assist in annual audit procedures and preparation of annual operating and capital improvement budgets.
Requirements: Graduation from 4-yr college/university with degree in accounting, business administration, or related field. Experience in public finance, governmental fund accounting preferred and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Compensation: Salary Range: $47,235 - 67,160 DOQ and experience plus benefits including full family health plan.
