WILKESBORO CEMETERY BOARD 
RESPONSIBILITIES

§ 97.02  MANAGEMENT OF CEMETERIES.  

  1. The power of decision-making shall rest in the Cemetery Committee. This Board shall be comprised of 4 Wilkesboro citizens and 1 Town Councilman. The Town Manager and the Town Attorney shall be ex officio members of the Committee and shall be present at each meeting. The Cemetery Administrator shall be present at each meeting as well and must enact decisions made by the Cemetery Committee.
  2. The term of office for Committee members will be 4 years as appointed by the  Board of Commissioners.  There shall be no term limits.
  3. Nominations will be made each year for Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Secretary.
  4. The Cemetery Committee will meet quarterly or on-call basis, with day meetings on the second Tuesday of each quarter at 2:00 p.m. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October.

The Cemetery Committee will meet quarterly or on-call basis, with day meetings on the second Tuesday of each quarter. Meetings will be held at the Wilkesboro Town Hall on the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October.
